As per Ayurveda, dosha is a condition that includes errors or unfavorable situations. Generally, doshas comprises of the five elements and are called Vata, Pitta and kapha. These three doshas are the main energies that govern all the functions in the body.
- Vata: It is composed of the space as well as air elements and from a qualitative perspective; it is light, cold, clear, subtle and mobile. It is linked to creativity as flexibility and governs all movement, the pulsation of breath, tissue movements, communication throughout the mind and the nervous system.
- Pitta: It comprises fire and water elements and shows a combination of the sharp, light, liquid and subtle qualities. It is closely related to intelligence, transformation, digestion and understanding.
- Kapha: It is principally made of the earth and water elements. It is heavy, slow, smooth, soft and stable. It hydrates all cells and systems, moisturize the skin, maintain immunity as well as lubricate the joints.
Doshas are considered as a wonderful personal tool so as to understand the natural strengths as well as vulnerabilities determined by the constitution. It is also beneficial for recognizing and correcting any kind of imbalance that can affect your health.
